Obsolete Events

Just for interest I have added the route instructions for various defunct events. I shall endeavour to add more as I uncover them. They could be converted to DIY routes or just ridden for fun.

 

Tour of Devonshire

500k and 600k

The 500 was devised for the SR2000 series that AUK ran to celebrate the millennium. Seven riders completed the event. At the request of the AUK Events Secretary I also ran an associated 600 which used most of the 500 route but with an extra leg towards Dartmoor. No-one finished that; the one rider who started converted to the 500 in mid-event.
I may get around to re-working the 500 as a permanent...eventually.

Devon and Exmoor

300k

I ran this event from 2001 until 2003. Problems with finding a suitable finish control and the small number of entrants finished it off. It was a spin-off from the Tour of Devonshire, being the first leg of that event.

Lanes and Valleys

200k and 100K

With the demise of the Exeter Wheelers' Mad March events I decided to organise something similar. The slot was handed to Lexi Webber who revamped the routes. Pippa Wheeler has now taken them over and has resurrected the 'Mad March' title.
